Habitat for Humanity ReStore in St. Charles County
Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County, a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, has a retail store that carries new and used home improvement merchandise. It’s called the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and it’s located at 130 Trade Center Drive West in St. Peters, MO.
The Habitat ReStore receives donations of new and lightly used home improvement materials and then sells these items to the public at deeply discounted prices. The funds generated from the Habitat ReStore allows Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County to further its mission in providing simple and decent affordable housing to those in need within St. Charles County.
The ReStore Brings a Mini-Habitat ReStore To the St. Charles Home Show
Planning a remodeling or home improvement project this Spring? Stop by The St. Charles Home Show to shop the ReStore for great deals on home improvement supplies, such as doors, vanities, sinks and smaller items such as nails, screws, wallpaper and light fixtures.
For example, there will be Valspar stains and varnishes and more than 300 brushed nickel American Standard towel racks that typically retail for $160 will be sold for just $10.
Shoppers will find thousands of feet of crown molding priced at $3 per 8 foot section, a large amount of 8″x8″ and 4″x4″ white ceramic tile and pallets of drop ceiling lighting.
Plus there are a number of new Lutron dimmer light switches that retail for $20 for sale for just $5 each. The merchandise is great for the average home owner, rental property owners and contractors of all levels.
The ReStore is also teaming up with more than 20 local artists who will paint, draw on and decorate doors for Doors to Dreams. You be the judge and choose 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The doors will then be sold by silent auction.
Not only are these doors functioning pieces of artwork, but with the proceeds Habitat for Humanity St. Charles will be able to purchase many front doors … the doors through which a first-time home buyer will walk into their first home!
Andrea Hughes, Habitat for Humanity ReStore Manager says the benefits of the ReStore are threefold. “Not only will the Habitat ReStore sell home improvement items to the public and provide funding for the Habitat affiliate, but the donated items are also being diverted from local land fills and will be recycled and reused, therefore lessening the strain on the environment.”
You can make a difference by helping out, too. You can donate, volunteer or sponsor the Habitat ReStore. Just call Andrea at 636-978-5712 or e-mail her at Andrea (at) habitatstcharles (dot) org.
