Plastic Pergola
You may think, “The Graduate,” but it’s time to change that thinking to Dennis Trost’s company!
Trost Plastics is an exhibitor at the next week’s St. Louis Builders Home and Garden Show….and for very good reason. Consumers are clamoring to get their hands on Trost Plastics fencing, awnings, decks and pergola.
I wondered why someone would choose vinyl or aluminum fencing instead of wood…and NOW I know. It’s lightweight, very appealing, no awful splinters, color that is built to last and it’s 100% maintenance free! Yes, you heard that correctly: no more power-washing, and–finally–NO staining!
Trost Plastics does railing, decking, specialty items like step units and pergola design. Here’s what Dennis told me separates his company from other fencing companies: When you buy fencing from another company, they send out a truck with all of the components packed into the back. When they arrive at the location where the fence is going to go, they have to assemble it there and it takes a lot of time to do that. Additionally, there will be area next to the gate section, where they will likely have to piece a segment.
When you buy fencing from Trost, they come out to measure and custom design for EACH client. Then they perform all assembly at the warehouse. No segment next to the gate, which looks funny, and all of the sections will already have been made, gates pre-assembled and pre-hung. Bottom line: Assembly takes NO time at all. The crews are happy because they don’t have to assemble fencing in blistering heat, nor freezing temps or rain.
Trost Plastics offer vinyl fencing and aluminum fencing. The vinyl comes in light colors such as beiges, tans and greys. The aluminum fencing resembles wrought iron and can be in black, white or bronze. And no painting! (I love that part.)
Dennis told me that the next big thing for them is pergola. I must confess, I had to look this word up. Maybe that’s because I don’t have a domestic bone in my body! Pergolas are the shade coverings for patios, pools or walkways. They are all vinyl with aluminum inserts.
Of course the aluminum never rusts, is wonderfully lightweight and the vinyl is just plain attractive. Now some companies sell do-it-yourself kits. But Trost Plastics custom designs each piece especially for you. Pergola is very popular!
Are you environmentally aware? Vinyl products meet or exceed national and local safety and building codes and preserve old-growth forests. One supplier even supplies nontoxic and 100% recyclable vinyl.
Trost Plastics installs lifetime home improvement products to replace traditional “disposable” materials. Unlike wood that exposes your family to hazardous chemical treatments, Trost’s products are created in controlled factory environments using stringent safety standards.
Drop by the Trost Plastics booth when attending the St. Louis Builders Home & Garden Show. And drop us a note in the comments and tell us which you prefer: Vinyl or wood?

Those are amazing thanks for sharing it to us. I am planning to have a garden pergola at my backyard this month.
I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100%, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong.
p.s. You have an awesome template for your blog. Where have you got it from?
Thanks for the compliment! We like it, too. It’s just a simple WordPress blog template that we prettied up. – Lori
